Question: what are phrasal verbs?

Answer:
Dear Fardad,

A phrasal verb is a combination of a verb and a preposition, a verb and an adverb, or a verb with both an adverb and a preposition. A phrasal verb often has a meaning which is different from the original verb.

For example: Set off or Look after

Question: hi teacher
how r u?
im very weak in learning english, what should i do?
please guide me
im all ears!
tnx
bye

Answer:
Dear Hamzeh,

I'm really happy to see that the students are really interested in learning and also the methods.

Never underestimate your ability to learn a new language. One of the best ways in order to improve the level of your English is to watch English news. While you are watching it, you will confront so many useful words, then try to look them up in your dictionary.

You should know that learning English is a time consuming process. Rome was not built over night.

Question: what is the active and passive voice ?

Answer:
Dear Emad,

An active verb or sentence has the person or thing doing the action as its subject. For example: The boy kicked the ball, the verb kick is active.

When the doer of the action is not important to be mentioned or less important, or the focus is on the person or thing acted upon, we use passive voice. For example: The ball was kicked or the ball was kicked by the boy.

Question: what is passive tense

Answer:
Dear Arif,

The passive tense is always a past participle. For example: In the sentence "I was given a book" or "The city was destroyed"

In the passive sentense, the subject receives the action. For example: The door was broken by the policeman.

We use it for two reasons:

1. When the doer of the action is not important.

2. When we want to draw our attention to the person or thing acted upon.

Note: Passive structure can be used in all kinds of tenses.

Question: i want to igmprov my speaking.how can i

Answer:
Dear Saeed,

To improve your speaking, you need to listen alot first. This way you will have a way to say that, and it can also help you pronunciation and accent. To speak English, you need to know if first, you need to learn how to make sentences in English. Afterwards, you need courage, you should not be afraid of talking or being wrong. Try to practice taht with your frineds, or even with yourself in the mirror when you are alone. This can make you more confident that you can speak. Then start speaking in front of others. You can also get some help at www.olc.ir/learning/speaking
